Safety

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the EV3’s standard Downhill Brake Control allows you to creep down safely. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer Downhill Brake Control.

Both the EV3 and the Blazer EV have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, front wheel drive, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

Warranty

The EV3 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Blazer EV’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

Kia’s powertrain warranty covers the EV3 5 years and 40,000 miles longer than Chevrolet covers the Blazer EV. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Blazer EV ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

Reliability

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ March 2026 Auto Issue reports that Kia vehicles are more reliable than Chevrolet vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Kia 7 places higher in reliability than Chevrolet.

The EV3 has a standard locking charge port, which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The Blazer EV doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

Transmission

The EV3 GT’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer launch control.

Suspension and Handling

The EV3 has vehicle speed sensitive variable-assist power steering, for low-effort parking, better control at highway speeds and during hard cornering, and a better feel of the road. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer variable-assist power steering.

For better maneuverability, the EV3’s turning circle is 5.7 feet tighter than the Blazer EV’s (34 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

Chassis

The Kia EV3 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1150 to 1300 pounds less than the Chevrolet Blazer EV.

The EV3 Light/Wind/Land is 1 foot, 10.9 inches shorter than the Blazer EV, making the EV3 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The EV3 is 5.2 inches narrower than the Blazer EV, making the EV3 easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

The front grille of the EV3 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Blazer EV doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Passenger Space

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the EV3’s rear seats recline. The Blazer EV’s rear seats don’t recline.

Cargo Capacity

The EV3 has a larger cargo volume than the Blazer EV with its rear seat up (26.1 vs. 25.5 cubic feet).

Towing

Maximum trailer towing in the Chevrolet Blazer EV is limited to 1500 pounds. The EV3 4x4 offers up to a 2000 lbs. towing capacity.

While the Blazer EV eAWD SS is not recommended to tow, any EV3 can tow a minimum of 1500 pounds.

Servicing Ease

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the EV3 to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Chevrolet doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Blazer EV.

Ergonomics

The EV3’s front power windows open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Blazer EV’s front passenger window doesn’t close automatically.

The EV3’s standard outside mirrors include heating elements to clear off the mirrors for better visibility. Chevrolet charges extra for heated mirrors on the Blazer EV.

The EV3 has a standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. Dual zone air conditioning is only available on the Blazer EV RS/SS.

The EV3 GT’s Smart Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Smart Parking Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Blazer EV’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.
